About Us
Founded in 2004, Greater Lewisville Cares is Denton County's premier volunteer service organization. We provide opportunities for individuals, groups, and corporations to improve the Denton County community through participation in creative, structured group volunteer programs that address Denton County's most pressing needs. Greater Lewisville Cares develops approximately 20 group volunteer projects each month. These projects serve children, adults, seniors, the environment, the hungry and homeless and much more. Our format gives people the opportunity to volunteer at Greater Lewisville Cares' projects when their schedule allows and has attracted hundreds of active volunteers. Greater Lewisville Cares' service projects introduce volunteers to the social, environmental and educational needs of the Denton County community.
Our Mission
Greater Lewisville Cares (GLC), a nonprofit organization, engages volunteers to strengthen our community by providing diverse service opportunities within Denton County.
Greater Lewisville Cares (GLC) strives to make it easy for residents of all ages living in Denton County, Texas and surrounding areas to volunteer in their community. By working in partnership with local community service agencies, city governments, and other nonprofits, GLC engages people in active service to their community:
- by offering flexibility
- by providing a variety of projects so volunteers can find those of interest to them whether that be working with children, the elderly, the environment, disabled, at-risk youth, etc., and
- by educating the volunteer, group or family as to the impact of their service…what the benefits are to the agency, to the client, to their neighbors.
