About the Program
This program is designed to aid ailing senior homeowners in need in the Denton County community. Individual volunteers are matched with an area senior to assist with a variety of projects depending on their need. Requests for help range from house keeping and yard work to minor home maintenance and repairs. Often times, an elderly person will fall ill and be unable to maintain their home. These fixed-income seniors cannot manage the financial burden, extreme temperatures, stress or physical nature of keeping up their home and may even face code violations, fines, etc. from the lack of up-keep. S.O.S. volunteers can help by offering their time and talents to our elderly who want to remain independent and proud of their homes.
Background checks are required for S.O.S volunteers.
